The continuing catalyst for my work is a stillness felt in open spaces with uninterrupted horizons, most potent for me at the edge of water-shifting atmospheres defined by ephemeral lines, drawing into the unknown, the unexplored. Each piece – from a first gesture becomes a journey of hopeful persistence into the landscape of painting, delineating and obscuring layering and then scraping back, metaphors for natures transformative power. A personal archaeology deliberate and accidental, punctuated by moments of convergence and unexpected finds.
